You were created for a purpose… on purpose.

Isn’t that easy to forget in the middle of an overwhelming day or week, or maybe a whole season? There’s so much to be said for putting one foot in front of the other and surviving, but if you want to live above burnout and really thrive, your heart needs to know you’re walking in your purpose.

There is wisdom designed into every cell of your being, but an overwhelmed mind sometimes forgets.

That’s what mind-body self care is for! Connecting back to yourself and finding that inner balance, no matter what is going on around you, is the best way to stay in alignment with the ease of your highest calling… you being you.

Using Roman Chamomile for Mind-Body Connection

Roman Chamomile is such a versatile oil with a rich history. In ancient Rome, soldiers used it before battle for a sense of bravery and courage. Germans referred to it as the herb “that is capable of anything”. Research has shown that it helps to balance blood pressure, relieve digestive upset, promote regular digestion, calm skin issues, relaxes the mind and emotions, promotes deep rest and makes falling asleep easier.

From the Chinese Medicine practice and perspective, Roman Chamomile is used to release stagnant energy in the liver and move blood evenly throughout the body. This helps to  relieve nervousness and anxious feelings, worry, agitation, low mood, frustration, and anger.

Imagine a housekeeper (the liver) that has been off duty for a couple weeks.

The house has become cluttered and stale. Moving around a messy house is difficult. Restoring the flow and bringing life back into the house is just a matter of some tidying up, clearing it out again, and opening up the windows for some fresh air and sunshine. Spring is when the body is naturally ready to detoxify and let go of winter stillness and stagnancy. Supporting the liver is the hinge-pin of allowing this detoxification.

A stagnant liver is said to “insult'', or cut off flow to, the lungs.

When you feel agitated, you hold your breath and might feel a tight diaphragm or rib cage. This same lack of flow into the lungs will affect blood flow and energy to the eyes, causing blurriness or eye strain. Tissues in the body, in general, will feel tight or cramp easily, and joints may get stiff and pop if the liver isn’t sending adequate blood flow out through the entire body. A “hot” or congested liver will show up in these daily body signs long before lab work and blood tests. Learn to read and support your body before you need the medical attention.

Roman Chamomile supports the natural flow and connection between the organs in the body.

Releasing the tension and stagnancy of the liver, resets and balances hormones and neurotransmitters that unlock clarity, focus, energy, and a general sense of well-being and determination.

Think of Roman Chamomile as the teacher who compassionately won’t let you say “I can’t”.

When you feel overwhelmed or are so far behind that starting seems futile, using this oil aromatically or topically brings you gently eases you back to your sense of power and ability to get things done in alignment with your purpose.
